STILLS
PHOTOGRAPHY

I began my career after earning a degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover, Germany. Working for some of Europe's most influential newspapers and magazines such as FAZ, stern, Sunday Times Magazine, I developed a skill for telling life's real stories in pictures. Which is something I do now in my corporate, commercial and portrait work for clients such as BMW, Maersk, Unicef and WWF.

BMW // ROAD TRIP JOHANNESBURG

For its 125 year anniversary BMW released a coffee table book on their cars in their natural habitat. I took the 330d on a road trip in Johannesburg.

MAERSK // HINTERLAND HEROES

Maersk isn't just containers on ships. It relies on a seamless logistics chain that reaches far into the hinterland.
I've visited a few of the people and places along that chain in Africa and Central America.

JAPAN // SENIOR LADIES' DIVING CLUB

In an ancient tradition, women on the Japanese island of Iki dive for sea urchins. In depths of up to 20 meters, without gear.
And because climate change makes the job less lucrative for the young, it's up to the old to harvest to delicacy. I shot this for German mare magazine.

PORTRAITS

CHEFS // COOKED

For 'Cooked', a coffee table and recipe book, I portrayed South Africa's most revered chefs and their favourite dishes.

UNICEF // FIGHTING MALARIA IN THE DRC

Malaria is at the same time one of the most deadly and one of the most easy preventable ones. A simple mosquito net will do.
But in a country as  large as the Democratic Republic of the Congo the distribution is largest challenge for an aid organisation like Unicef.
